SOLIDWORKS is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) computer program. It's a great software that can be used for a variety of purposes in different industries.

You can buy a Student Edition with CSWA and CSWP vouchers: For students who don’t have access to the SOLIDWORKS Education Edition through their school, we sell a product called the Student Edition. It’s a 12-month term-of-use license that you can purchase online. As part of a SOLIDWORKS Education license, schools and universities with a 60 student or larger class size can qualify students for a Premium license (also called Student Engineering Kit). This comes with a SOLIDWORKS serial number that students can use to install SOLIDWORKS directly on their personal computer and is generally free of charge. SOLIDWORKS Student Edition licenses are version-specific, and hence it is not possible to upgrade these products. The licenses will be valid up to 365 days, beginning from the first date of activation. If your current Student Edition license.

All Students (first year through graduate), Faculty and Staff can install SolidWorks on their personal device/s for course related, team projects, Capstone and Academic research use only. See license terms and definition below.

Definitions of License Terms and Usage:

• “Educational Purpose” means classroom or laboratory learning by Qualified Students or instruction or preparation of courses by Qualified Instructors. Educational Purposes may also include Capstone or other student projects if the work is non-proprietary, does not create or transfer Intellectual Property and the results will become part of the public domain. Educational Purposes do not include Research Purposes, Commercial Purposes or Curriculum Development.
• “Research Purpose” means any work where SolidWorks directly contributes to the problem statement, modeling, analysis, outcome or deliverables of a Research Project. Research Purposes do not include Commercial Purposes or
  Curriculum Development.
• “Commercial Purpose” means professional consulting, hardware production for resale, job shop activities, services performed under a Technical Services Agreement, corporate or government internships, private tutoring or training of anyone other than Qualified Students.

MySolidWorks is a web portal that helps you be more more productive by connecting you with relevant SOLIDWORKS® content and services—anytime, anywhere, and on any device. With MySolidWorks, you can get answers about SOLIDWORKS, learn more, and connect with manufacturers.

All UCSD users can access MySolidWorks. You must use SOLIDWORKS EDU Premium serial number.
